About the artist

I happen to be one of those self taught part time artists, who never really studied art. I am open to all things arty, and besides painting I have done some pottery, woodwork and of late sculpturing.

I was born and grew up in Johannesburg South Africa. After high school I completed an apprenticeship in patternmaking, where I learned my woodworking skills. As I loved to draw I then pursued a career in drafting which has unfortunately fallen victim to the computer era.

To keep in the art loop I have done painting with several art groups. In 2004 I moved to Perth Australia where my painting somehow developed to a different level. I joined a group headed up by artist Leanne Pearson who was instrumental in getting me painting again after a few less active years.

In 2007 I moved to Vancouver Canada as a permanent resident, where I continue to paint and develop my new found interest in sculpturing.
